First of all I would like to start out telling you that this will ONLY work if you have Incredimail
Letter Creator. If you do not have this program this will NOT work.
I would also like to say to you PSPers out there that this is in no way intended to insult your intellicence.
When I attempt to write a tut I write them so anyone can understand them, at least that is my goal.
In PSP
1.) Open a 1920 x 550 transparent image, flood fill with white.
2.) Browse for a scrapkit of your choice.
3.) Once you have found the scrapkit that you would like to use, choose two papers that match.
****Hint! - Try to avoid papers that have designs on them. If not, you will find that you will end up with noticable seams even after you
seamless tile everything.
4.) Resize the papers so they are 600 x 600 pixels.
5.) Copy and paste one of the papers onto your workig canvas. Align it along the left side. When moving it to the left side, you don't want very much of it
to show. I have attached images so you will see what I'm talking about. Apply the following drop shadow to the paper: 1,1,75,13.00
6.) Copy and paste the second paper and move it to the left side of the canvas as well. Over lap the bottom paper layer so it is still some what visisble.
Apply the same drop shadow as above.
7.) From the scrapkit that you chose, pick elements that you would like to apply to the border.
8.) Once you have found which elements you would like to use, you need to resize them to make them very small. Keep in mind, although they appear to be extremely small
in PSP, they will be a normal size in IncrediMail. I usually resize mine several times at 80% until I reach the size I need.
9.) Add as many elements that you would like, and arrange them how you like. Apply the following drop shadow to each element layer: 1,1,50,13.00.
Depending on the element, it mya not need a drop shadow that heavy, in which case I usually put the opacity at 25.
10.) Click on the white background layer, and add a new raster layer. The new raster layer should now be above the white background layer.
11.) Choose a color from your papers or elements that you have used in your stationary. Choose a Texture of your choice. This may take a few tries
until you find the texture that looks best with your elements.
Also, depending on the color you have chosen for the background, you may need to lower the opacity.
12.) Apply the following steps to each layer one at a time:
Effects -> Image Effects -> Seamless Tiling:
Once you have applied the seamless tiling to each layer, right click on a layer in the layer palette:
Merge -> Merge Flatten
Effects -> Image Effects -> Seamless Tiling
Using the same settings as above.
13.) Save the image as a .jpg file into a folder so its easy for you to find.
Your results should look something like this.
IncrediMail
1.) Now that we have the graphic we're going to to use as the stationary background made, Open IncrediMail.
2.) Click on the "New" button as if you were going to send a new E-Mail message. Beside the "New Message"
box, you should see the "Style box". If you do not see the style box, you will see an arrow on the left
side of the new message window. Click on the arrow to open the style box.
3.) On the "Style Box", make sure you are in the "Letters" list.
4.) Click on the "Create" button, at the bottom of the style box.
5.) Once you click on the "Create" button, the IncrediMail letter creator will open.
6.) On the body tab, click on "Image". A box will pop up allowing you to search for files. Locate the background that we made
previously in PSP. Click "OK". You will now see the background you made in the letter creators window.
7.) Once the background is visible in the window, click on "Tile"
8.) In the "Text" area, click on "Text color". Choose a color that matches your stationary.
9.) Click on the "Link color" and again choose a color that matches your stationary.
****Hint - When I do the link color, I use the same color that I do for my font and then darken
it by dragging the scroll arrow. You can also change the font and font size at this time.
10.) In the "Margins area", the settings may be different with each stationary you make, depending
on your border. I keep my borders pretty close to the same size, so my settings rarely change.
These are my settings and what works for me:
**Top: 50
**Left: 150
**Right: 10 (Which is default)
**Line Spacing: 20
11.) Click the "Next button. You should be in the "Header" tab now. Click on the Text alignment and
Center.
12.) Click the "Next" button again, and now you should be in the "Footer" tab. Repeat the text alignment
steps as you did above. Once the curser is centered, hold down on the enter key so that it scrolls to the
bottom and stops.
13.) Click the "Next" button (Left tab). Here you dont need to do anything for the purpose that we want.
14.) Click the "Next" button (right tab). Click the text alignment and align right.
15.) Click the "Next button (3D Effects tab). Choose an anmated effect to occur when you send, or receive
the letter. This is optional and you can leave it as default which is letter fold.
16.) Click the "Next" button (Finish tab). Here you need to:
**Give your letter a name.
**Give your collection a name.
** Name the category
**Type: Letter (this will remain at default).
**You may also apply any of your personal credits to the letter if you choose.
17.) once you have applied the information into letter creator, click on: Save
Project -> Save -> OK
Once its saved click on: Add To Incredimail -> OK
18.) "X" out of Incredimail letter creator, and you're finished!
*****To find your stationary, look in the style box for your collection name*****
